Our fight continues, the City of Chino Hills is requesting CPUC to take a second look at our situation. Our fight has many fronts, not just the legal ones, we must continue to bring awareness to Edison's attempt to sacrifice our families. The CPUC's recent ruling (7-2-12) asked SCE to draw up plans towards the effort of under-grounding the 500 kv power-lines that are poised to run through a large portion of Chino Hills. HFTH is optimistic about the ruling, but until the towers are down, HFTH will continue to bring awareness to this attempted mutilation of this community. The CPUC has NOT made its final decision in regards to the power-lines in Chino Hills. The CPUC's final decision can come as early as July 2013. If you truly have a desire to make a difference in this fight, the time to take action is Now. Besides writing letters, we also need individuals to participate in our ongoing activities.  Get added to our e-mail list to stay informed.
Our work continues. Below are all e-mail addresses for the CPUC Commissioners. We need to encourage them to find a community freindly alternative to the on going multilation of our city.  Under-grounding  the lines are a viable alternative. Let them know how our families are counting on them to help steer SCE in the right direction. Read the bios. of the commissioners to see if you can make a personal connection, Click here

We all need to spend time writing letters to the Executives and Board of Directors of SCE. You can get as crazy as you want….we have found a new adjective to describe what SCE has done to our community ….. M U T I L A T I O N……… use it and abuse it. Everyone use this word when you describe what SCE is doing to our community. Write from your heart…..write while you’re angry. It’s OK. Let these pompous executives who mocked us while we protested in Rosemead many months ago know how you feel. In your correspondences remember to push for the 4CM alternative route.

The new SCE towers being installed in Chino Hills and other communities along the route of the TRTP Project are 200ft and taller, in easements as narrow as 150ft and as close as 70ft from homes. The proximity of these towers to hundreds of homes is even too much of a risk for the Federal Housing Agency.  FHA rules deny the approval of loans to properties that lie within the fall zone of high voltage towers.  Concerned citizens are asking local politicians were they stand on this public safety and real estate issue. Hope for the Hills has sent letters to the following local politicians and are awaiting their public statements regarding these important community concerns. Contact these local politicians to inform them of the terrorizing nature of these towers and the FHA loan limitations related to them. These people are civil servants and should have no problem standing up for any public safety concerns and/or the unfair loan limitations imposed by the location of these SCE towers. This is a bi-partisan issue don't let any politician try to excuse themselves from showing support.

SCE' desperation is showing, besides there countless and costly legal bullying tactics, they are currently running a public relations campaign aimed in building up a collation of organizations within the state to try and convince the CPUC that they have wide spread support for the mutilation of Chino Hills.  Their campaign consist of organizing meetings with various local entities and spewing their one way rhetoric about their inflated cost of burying the lines in Chino Hills. We hope that those who attend these meeting can see through SCE's desperate and transparent attempt to bully yet another city into submission.

To help show a more genuine reflection of concerns from real families, we the community of Chino Hills are asking for support from our family, friends and neighbors from across the state to write to the CPUC to show support for burying the 500,0000 volt lines within the current right of way.  The city of Chino Hills along with our own HFTH estimates for burying the lines are substantially lower than SCE's over inflated numbers. But besides the cost factor, this battle is about the health and safety of men, women and children.  If SCE is allowed to do this in Chino Hills then SCE will have a precedent for doing this everywhere.

Feel free to use the samples letters provided to let the CPUC know how you feel about SCE bullying efforts to subjugate families to a future of unknown risks.
